W.A.L.T:Show not tell
and work on paragraphs (for next piece of writing)
The sun was setting for the night through a gap in the trees and the only thing that could be heard was an owl hooting in the distance, the waves from the lake rolling on to the beach and someone telling a story around a campfire. “It was a calm night just like tonight about 50 years ago and there was a boy scouts club having a camp. The only thing that could be heard was the sound of an owl in the distance, the sound of the waves crashing on the sand before them, the boys were cooking marshmallows just like us and then there was a rustle in the bushes most of the boys scouts of course were to lost in the song they were singing to hear so they just kept on singing and when the song had finished all of the boys got up and went to bed apart from 1 and he wanted to put out the fire so he decided he wanted to finish the bag of marshmallows and as he did so there was another rustle in the bushes and the boy yelled help. He was never seen again.”All of the boys were now oohhing and aarrrhhing at the story and the one boy put there hand up and asked “ How do you know this exactly?” “I was the boy who went missing best friend and I was one of the ones who heard the rustle in the bushes and I tried to persuade him not to stay and let the fire to just die out its self but he would not listen. Alright we better get an early night off you go so all of the boys got up and got there pj's on apart from one who did not listen to the story and was too busy to hear the sound of tents zipping a boys all bidding there fellows goodnight he was finishing off the bag of marshmallows when there was yet another rustle in the bushes the boy turned a large black horse with a man on its back. the man gestured for the boy to jump onto the horse. They flew away and lived happily ever after.
