Horse Equipment

Equipment

1. The First piece of equipment that is called the HELMET and this is so your head does not get damaged.
2. Next you will need a BRIDLE so you can control the pony/ horse and also you can give them *aids.
(*aids are using your legs, hands and voice so they get the signal to walk, trot, canter and gallop.)
3. Eventually you will need to get a SADDLE but you do not necessarily need one because there is such thing called bareback which enables you to ride without a saddle. (it is best for a beginner to start with a saddle though).
4. (optional) then there is a MARTINGALE to stop the horse from knocking the rider out by throwing the horses head back.
5. HORSESHOES are used  so that the horse does not get stones in the horses feet and then they can get lame and it gives them better grip over rough terrain.
6. JODHPURS  are a type of riding pants and they are warm and thin so that they stretch more when you are doing games (etc).
.7 RIDING BOOTS are a type of boot for riding horses.
.8 CHAPS are a type of socket that goes over your riding boots for more gripp.
.9 optional EAR BONNETT  Is so the horse does not shy at noises.
.10 SADDLE BLANKET so that the saddle does not slip and hurt the pony.
